What should I wear and bring?
Trousers, closed shoes with ankle support, one layer more than the city needs. Nothing handheld — no cameras, no selfie sticks. The pilot's camera covers the flight.

Trousers rather than shorts, closed shoes that support your ankle for the landing, and a layer more than Almaty needs — Ushkonyr runs 8 to 10 °C cooler than the city and the air is cooler again. Sunglasses that will not fall off, and sunscreen: you are at 1,750 m with thin air and a lot of reflected light off the steppe.
Nothing handheld. Anything you drop becomes a projectile and anything on a strap is a snag hazard near the lines. The pilot's camera covers the whole flight and the footage is included, delivered the same day.
In July and August, bring water and expect an early start — the usable air is before 11:00 and standing on an exposed plateau at midday in 35 °C heat is its own problem.
